The bus is now in Addis Ababa

Following an epic trip through rain, sun, atrocious roads, wonderful countries, sand, dust, rivers and some serious hills, we made it. The bus is looking a little sorry for itself (the desert section in Sudan and the Ethiopian roads were rough), but it is still apparently worth about £5000 in Addis Ababa. I believe it will be sold off and the proceeds used to assist the people of Mount Entoto.
We have also been able to donate a lot of the equipment that we took with us to use on the way, such as a generator and a 9 metre gazebo. On top of this, we have delivered a lot of kit generously donated to us, including a lot of medical equipment from South West  Ambulance Service, football strips (many from Weymouth Football Club), shirts, skirts, pencils, pens, rugby kit, etc, etc.
Money is still coming in from various sources for CLIC Sargent. At present our running total is just short of £5000 but donations would still be very welcome.
Jo has been interviewed by a journalist from Chat Magazine who will be doing an article about the trip, hopefully in the 3rd issue in the new year. This will hopefully bring in another £200 to the fund.
There will hopefully be a book.....watch this space.

We have lost one member, Ami. Having gone through the list of those people who had expressed an interest, it seems most can't commit this late to nearly 5 weeks off work. It's a shame to think that there is a potential empty space on this trip of a lifetime, life changing experience.

We desperately need sponsorship. Money is coming in slowly but it would be good to sell a lot more advertising space on the bus.

We need ramps ! Having had a quick chat on Tuesday with a chap who has been down there recently, at Wadi Halfa there is no dock, just steep ramps off the barge. Our bus has limited ground clearance, especially at the front. We need 4 metre ramps capable of supporting a 9 tonne bus. I'll get in touch with vehicle recovery companies.

Rugby World magazine are looking at doing an article on the rugby match in Ethiopia.

We now have stickers on the side of the bus thanking various schools and organisations for their assistance, including Budmouth school, St Osmunds and others.

Ian Tibble has been out driving now. He's not bad at all. Needs to slow down those gear changes a little, but he's not far off.

Saturday 9th August has been suggested for a full team get together.

Exposure - Chief Bus Conductor 14th July
